The top products of the past year are here once again. Chosen by our panels of prestigious judges in three categories—lighting, projection, and sound—several months were spent debating the Live Design 2014-2015 Products Of The Year. Congratulations to the teams that developed these products and all those who support them. The Sound Product of the Year for Microphones is the Morton Microphone Systems Kicktone Mic.
The KickTone® was designed to capture and reproduce sub to high frequencies found in the resonant chamber of a bass drum, technology that one of our judges calls, “a rather neglected area.” But now, thanks to its patented technology, KickTone reproduces the rich tone with full, extended bass fidelity. The dynamic design is built around a specially manufactured hemp diaphragm that is both stiff and light, and provides exceptional damping characteristics and durability, coupled with a high-end driver for upper range frequencies. Vents in the housing allow the free flow of air. “The KickTone is a pretty cool innovation,” adds another judge.
