The d3 4x4pro uses next-generation components in a rugged custom case, making it suitable for demanding touring productions, massive multi-projector shows, TV, broadcast, and fixed installs. The manufacturer has built in a Push Every PixelTM feature, playing up to eight layers of 4K video, 32 layers of HD video (DXV/HAP codecs), or up to eight layers of uncompressed HD video (Animation codec), with canvas sizes up to 16K pixels. It has two 10Gbits/sec Ethernet ports, allowing the transfer of huge quantities of content. In an industry first, the manufacturer claims, it features user-replaceable video format conversion (VFC) output cards so users can drive up to 16 HD outputs in either DVI or 3G-SDI, or swap to DisplayPort to drive up to four 4K outputs.
