Wybron Celebrates Its LDI 2006 Award

Lighting equipment manufacturer Wybron, Inc., formally announced and celebrated their Best Debuting Product of the Year Award, given at LDI 2006 for the InfoTrace Control and Management System, with a champagne toast at the company’s Colorado Springs headquarters last week.

“We are delighted to have been selected for the LDI 2006 Best Debuting Product Of The Year Award,” says Keny Whitright, chairman and founder of Wybron. “We are excited to have received both the LDI award and the PLASA innovation award in the same year for the second time.”

In September, Wybron won the PLASA 2006 Award for Innovation for the quality of design, concept, and development of the InfoTrace System. Previously in 1994, Wybron’s Autopilot II System garnered both the LDI and PLASA awards. Wybron is the only lighting equipment manufacturer to have ever received both awards in the same year.

Wybron received the prestigious LDI award during a special ceremony held on Saturday, October 21 at LDI 2006 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Whitright and Larry Turner, Wybron CEO, accepted the award from LDI and Live Design magazine. The InfoTrace System was selected by a panel of judges who chose Wybron’s product from a host of other outstanding new technology and product advancements.

“We strongly believe that the InfoTrace System will make it easier for everyone involved with managing the increasing complexity of lighting shows,” says Turner. “The InfoTrace System provides a wealth of information about potentially every piece of gear on a rig. We are pleased that the LDI judges recognize our outstanding contribution to advancing the lighting industry.”

InfoTrace (IT) is a new lighting design system that uses Remote Device Management (RDM) to control and manage Digital Multiplex (DMX)-controlled devices, such as color changers, moving lights, fog machines, and dowsers.
