Telex Fills Two Key Positions

Telex Communications has filled two key positions in its Radiocom and RTS divisions. Mark Gubser has been named product manager for the Radiocom line of products. While this is a new role for Gubser, he’s no stranger to Telex, having worked for 14 years in the company’s Lincoln, NE, facility, most recently as senior mechanical engineer of Telex’s RF Engineering Group. He will be responsible for planning and developing new wireless intercom products under the Radiocom brand, analyzing market and technology trends, supporting Telex’s dealer and direct sales efforts in the US and internationally, developing new Radiocom product distribution and promotion strategies and working closely with the Lincoln factory to improve manufacturing efficiencies, inventory control, and production forecasts. Prior to joining Telex, Gubser was a senior technical associate for Bell Telephone Laboratories.

“Having worked in RF engineering for the past 14 years, I’ve seen tremendous growth in wireless intercom systems, in terms of product applications and end-user benefits,” says Gubser. “I’m excited, both professionally and personally, to take on this new challenge and to be able to play an even larger role in the development of new wireless communications technology.”

Telex has also named Tom Weems as the new western regional manager for the company’s RTS systems division. With a broad territory covering much of the northern and western US, including Alaska and Hawaii, Weems will be responsible for several aspects of sales, marketing, promotion and support for RTS System products. Weems has held previous sales and marketing positions with Panasonic Broadcast, NewsMaker Systems, Tektronix TV Division, Link Electronics and Gray Communications Consultants. His background includes engineering management positions with major market television stations, new station construction and facility integration/station remodeling. He has also worked closely with systems integrators, dealers, distributors, OEMs and facility design firms.

“I’m looking forward to putting my experience to work for such a talented and professional team as Telex’s RTS Division,” says Weems. “I’ve been familiar with the company’s products for years and I’ve seen them used in a variety of applications. Having the opportunity now to work directly with these products is extremely exciting for me.”
