TDF Costume's Moving Sale Starts Oct. 26

Twenty thousand professional quality theatrical costumes will be available to the general public on Tuesday, October 26, Wednesday, October 27 and Thursday, October 28 during the TDF Costume Collection's "Moving Sale." These are one-of-a-kind costumes from all periods, as well as many, accessories that were donated over the years from Broadway and off-Broadway productions, opera companies and individuals.

After more than 30 years at its warehouse/showroom on the 17th floor of 601 West 26th Street, TDF's Costume Collection (which rents costumes to not for profit organizations across the country at reduced prices), is moving to a new, smaller space on the third floor of the same building. After weeks of sorting through every costume and accessory in the Collection's stock, about one quarter of the Collection's 80,000 pieces will not be moving to the third floor, and thus will be made available to the public.

The general public is invited to the "moving sale" beginning Tuesday, October 26 at 10am. On that first day, they may buy shopping bags for $20 each. They may then go through the collection and fill their shopping bag with any costumes in the warehouse.

On the second day of the sale, Wednesday, October 27, the shopping bags will be $10 each. If there are any costumes remaining by Thursday, October 28, the bags will be free.

The sale starts promptly at 10:00 am, and the doors will be open until 4:30pm. It is at 601 West 26th street, between 11th and 12th Avenues, on the 17th floor. TDF accepts cash or traveller's checks only.
