and the Lighting Research Center have announced the winners of the 2002 Student Luminaire Design Competition. This year's competition challenged students to design an integrated product delivering both daylighting and electric lighting to an interior space. The competition generated more than 100 entries. The awards were presented at Lightolier's corporate headquarters on June 24.
"We were very impressed with the quality of student entries," said Zia Eftekhar, president of Lightolier. "This was a real-world challenge, as issue they will undoubtedly face when they leave school. This hands-on experience will be invaluable to them as they begin their careers."
The winners of the competition are:
