Strand Lighting Appoints New Northeast Regional Sales Manager

Strand Lighting is pleased to announce the appointment of Pete Borchetta as their new northeast regional sales manager.

Borchetta comes to Strand with 18 years of lighting design and 10 years of theatrical consulting experience. He joins national sales manager Steve Gambino in the sales of Strand lighting products in Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Eastern Pennsylvania, Ontario, Quebec, and the Maritime provinces of Canada.

Prior to joining Strand, Borchetta worked on the theatrical lighting and design-technology theatre faculty at Adelphi University and also spent 10 years working with theatrical and architectural lighting consultancy of Robert Lorelli Associates, Inc. Strand is pleased to have Borchetta as a key part of their sales team given his vast experience in the operation and design of performance facilities.

As graduate of Providence College with a BA in Design-Technical Theatre and an MA from Adelphi University in Fine Arts, Borchetta has an extensive list of credentials in the theatrical field. He has designed a considerable number of productions, industrials, and facilities all over the world. Designing for and with such greats as Carmine DeLavallade, Geoffery Holder, Gregory Hines, Vanessa Redgrave, Gelsey Kirkland, and Max Roach to name a few.

Some additional credits and awards include The Historical Preservation Society Architectural Design Award for his lighting of Harkins Hall at Providence College; the 1999 Engineering Excellence Award for the Freedom Ring with Robert Lorelli, and numerous ACTF (American College Theatre Festival) regional and national lighting awards. Borchetta is a member of Theata Alpha Phi (the National Theatre Arts Fraternity), USITT (United States Institute for Theatre Technology), IESNA (Illuminating Engineering Society of North America), and is a Black Friar's Theatre Fellowship Recipient.
