Staff Changes at Meyer Sound

Meyer Sound has appointed Buford Jones to the position of tour liaison manager. In this new position, Jones will work with sound companies, tour production managers and artists in support of the company's sound reinforcement products, including the recently introduced M3D™ Line Array loudspeaker system.

"It's a real pleasure to welcome Buford to the Meyer Sound team," says Greg McVeigh, director of North American sales at Meyer Sound. "His experience and reputation are legendary. With him on board, we now have a powerful team in place to work with the critical touring market. And most importantly, we finally have someone who knows how to play golf."

Based in Nashville, Jones has an extensive background in professional audio as a live sound and postproduction mixer, and has won a TEC Award for his work as a sound reinforcement engineer. He has toured as a live sound mixer or engineered for such acts as Stevie Wonder, Eric Clapton, Pink Floyd (including a Platinum Record for "Delicate Sound of Thunder"), David Bowie, Faith Hill, Jeff Beck, George Harrison, James Taylor, SHeDAISY, and many others.

"I have tremendous respect for Meyer Sound and its leading role in the audio industry," Jones remarks. "I am very excited to be working with such a fine company and staff."

In other news, Meyer has promoted Luke Jenks to the position of director of European technical support. Based in Utrecht, the Netherlands, Jenks will provide technical support and design services to Meyer Sound customers in Europe, and serve as a direct technical liaison to company headquarters in Berkeley, California.

"Luke's distinguished career at Meyer Sound has given him an unparalleled level of experience,” says Helen Meyer. "We're pleased to have him represent the company to our valued European customers."

Jenks has worked previously at Meyer in research and development, US technical support and design services, and as manager of speaker testing since joining the company in 1989. In his Utrecht office, Jenks will have full system design and MAPP(tm) analysis capabilities.
