Sound Travels Returns To Gibraltar Point

Sound Travels will be returning to Gibraltar Point Centre for the Arts, Toronto Island, Canada, for its third season Labor Day weekend. The show explores the possibilities of sound in space in a series of four outdoor concerts and includes demonstrations, soundwalks, and workshops. The four concerts feature works for live and automated octaphonic spatialization, using the Canadian-made Richmond Sound Design AudioBox.

Artistic director Darren Copeland, Toronto, will be joined by Joergen Teller, Demark; Tim Brady, Montreal; John Oswald, Toronto; Paul Dolden, Montreal; David Gamper, New York; Anne Bourne, Toronto; Sarah Peebles, Toronto; Bruce Degazio, Toronto; Monique Jean, Montreal; and Kristi Allik, Kingston. There will be three world premieres featured along with an international program of improvisational collaborations, classic electroacoustic works from Francis Dhomont, France, and Hildegard Westerkamp, Vancouver, and a collaboration between Sarah Peebles and David Toop, United Kingdom.
