SHOWTECH Hits Berlin June 2005

From June 1-3, 2005, the fairgrounds in Berlin, Germany will again host SHOWTECH 2005, the International Trade Show & Conference for Event and Media Technology.

Due to the competitive dollar, North American participation at SHOWTECH 2005 is expected to see a substantial increase compared to previous shows. Half of the 7,000 trade visitors expected at SHOWTECH 2005 consider it to be the undisputed leading trade fair for stage and event technology in Europe. Roughly 300 exhibitors from 25 countries are expected to present their latest products in the fields of stage technology, studio technology, lighting technology, image and communication technology and sound and PR technology. The official sponsor of the 12th SHOWTECH is once again the DTHG, the German Theater Technology Association.

North American Companies at SHOWTECH 2005 have the opportunity to select a turnkey booth structure offered for the first time by the show organizer.

Attracting a trade visitor proportion of 98 percent, the quality of the trade visitors is exceptionally high. The majority of the visitors (58.4 percent) come from the area of theatre, concert halls, venue operators, event management, film, radio and TV, plus rental companies. The proportion of international trade visitors has risen to 25 percent and they, too, are most interested in obtaining technical information and seeing innovations. The SHOWTECH organizers have been given the mandate to raise the level of international involvement.

SHOWTECH 2005 is offering new halls, new supporting events, and new live action. The move to the modern exhibition halls in the south of the Berlin Exhibition Center is geared towards an improved structure and shorter walking distances for trade visitors.

Large, bulky exhibits, which could not be accommodated in the past, can now be displayed outside directly in front of the South Entrance to the Exhibition Center in: "Open Air – The Live Experience." The Association of German Sound Engineers (VDT) and the Television and Cinema Technology Society (FKTG) will co-host a specialized forum bringing professionals in the TV, film and audio sectors together under the theme "Video Meets Audio."

"20 years after the first event in 1984, SHOWTECH is still just as dynamic as the industry for which it caters to," explains Britta Wirtz, SHOWTECH Project Manager. "We are expecting to see a number of highly promising new developments in the run-up to the 12th SHOWTECH."
