Showorks Studios, Formerly Soundelux Showorks, Adds New Leadership

In the wake of the departure of company founder John Miceli, Soundelux has changed its name to Showorks Studios and Showorks Systems and announced new leadership in the Orlando office.

Tony Peluso has been named vice president of creative development. Peluso previously served as general manager of Walt Disney World's Pleasure Island entertainment complex, producer and director on the opening team for Tokyo Disneyland and most recently as vice president of US development for The Tussaud’s Group, Ltd.

Jim Duncan has been named director of production operations. Duncan, a 28-year industry veteran, serves as director of production operations. Duncan is an Emmy award-winning television producer and director with experience in launching cable television networks and developing Internet learning solutions.

Jim Dorriety, senior vice president and general manager of Orlando's Showorks Studios, says, "The Orlando office is expanding its production and post-production studios' services. We are continuing to build on our 20-year, unparalleled track record of excellence merging creative concepts with technology."

Bill Bittel, senior vice president of Showorks Systems, continues to provide turnkey, cutting-edge AV solutions for theme parks attractions and entertainment venues. A Rochester Institute of Technology engineer with 20 years experience, Bittel had a key role in the development of Universal Studios Islands of Adventure.

Phil Rafnson, president of MTS and head of LBE says, "With Jim Dorriety, Tony Peluso, Mike Duncan, Bill Bittel and the team in the Orlando office, we have the proven leadership to continue growing the Studios and Systems groups further moving into international markets."

The Orlando facility of Showorks Entertainment Group includes Showorks Studios and Showorks Systems. Founded in 1982 as Soundelux, Showorks Entertainment Group has offices in Los Angeles, Orlando, Minneapolis, New York, London and Spain.

As previously reported, Miceli left the company last month and has since formed Technomedia Solutions, also based in Orlando, which will focus on the design and integration of advanced technologies and media for themed parks, retail, and other venues. Click here for full story.
