SGM Launches Giotto Spot 400 CYM

SGM

has launched Giotto Spot 400 CMY, a brand new moving head projector designed for use in high-profile entertainment applications, in concerts, theatres and television studios. Giotto Spot 400 CMY offers the most advanced features in its class, including 400W hot re-strike MSR lamp, 11°-22° motorized zoom, advanced CMY colour generation system + 1 colour wheel with 6 colours and white, 2 rotating indexable gobo wheels and 1 animation wheel, linear iris, linear frost, linear CTO filter, 1 rotating prism, electronic ballast, absolute silent operation and cooling.

Giotto Spot 400 CMY is fitted with a 400W discharge lamp, used along with an optical group that gives extraordinary luminous power (12,000 Lux at 5 m.), the ideal choice for the countless applications in which a less powerful fixture would be insufficient and a more powerful one excessive. The electronic ballast (90-245V / 50/60Hz) ensures bright flicker-free light. The motorized 11°- 22° zoom gives beam angles otherwise only obtainable with more expensive fixtures.

SGM's Giotto Spot 400 CYM

Giotto Spot 400 CMY offers lighting designers an advanced CMY mixing colour system made of 3 palettes, which allows to obtain a uniform light beam and an infinite range of shades, from the most saturated to the softest colours, with efficient control of their tones; The CMY system is integrated by a linear CTO filter and a further colour wheel with 6 colours + white. Giotto Spot 400 CMY has a comprehensive series of features to create a wide variety of lighting effects: 2 customizable gobo wheels (8 interchangeable rotating indexable gobos + white each), one interchangeable animation wheel, motorized focus, linear iris, 1 multi-facet rotating prism, etc.

Giotto Spot 400 CMY was designed paying great attention to absolute silent operation and cooling, a key priority for theatre and television applications. The head movement and the fixture’s internal mechanism also have an extremely low noise level. Cooling is via convection, thanks to the mechanical connection of the dichroic reflector with a metal heat sink which disperses heat towards the rear of the fixture; two very low-speed fans are only triggered when necessary, ensuring sufficient air circulation for perfect fixture operation even with a high surrounding temperature (up to 50°C).

A phonometric test in an anechoic chamber of a Giotto 400 made by Istituto Giordano S.p.A. shows a noise level of 31.8 dB at 1 mt. Giotto Spot 400 CMY is powerful and versatile, yet compact and light weight; in fact, the fixture can be easily transported and installed by a single operator, thanks to the practical handles and ‘Fast Lock’ hanging clamps. User-friendly maintenance is ensured by facilitated head opening and easy access to internal components; relamping can be done rapidly without moving the lamp holder.

SGM has also launched the Palco, an architectural fixture for indoor and outdoor use (insulation degree: IP65) with avant-garde technology and unusual, particularly stylish lines that enable it to blend harmonically into the architecture and scenarios being illuminated. The fixture’s main innovation is its use of a series of high-power Luxeon LEDs as a light source (with RGB colour mixing - 5 blues, 20 greens and 24 reds).

Both products will be seen at ProLight and Sound in Frankfurt, Germany, in March 2004.
