Russell H. Champa Wins Barrymore Award for Outstanding Lighting

Russell H. Champa received this year’s Barrymore Award for Outstanding Lighting, The Barrymore Awards are given out annually to honor achievement in the Philadelphia-area theatre. Champa’s work on the Wilma Theatre production of Red was cited.

The Wilma Theatre swept the awards in the all design categories. In addition to Champa, other winners included Jerry Rogo (Oustanding Scenery, Big Love); Janus Stefanowicz, Outstanding Costumes; Big Love), and James Sugg (Outstanding Sound Design, Red). The overall big winner at the show was the People’s Light & Theatre Company production of Suzan Lori-Park’s In the Blood, which took four awards, including Outstanding Overall Production of a Play.
