Richard Hoyes, a 13-year veteran of Fisher Dachs Associates, has joined Ted Ferreira and CD+M Lighting Design Group, effective October 6, 2008. Hoyes will be an associate principal for the company, running its New York operations.
“We had wanted a New York office for a long time,” says Ferreira about bringing Hoyes on board. “For us it was about the next logical step in looking at the US market. New York was the only core market where we didn’t have a representative, and as a global player you can’t ignore the impact that New York has on the international scene. This will allow us to service clients in the New York area who are taking an international approach, and the events of the last month have shown how essential it is to diversify.”
Ferreira is currently in Dubai, where CD+M also has a new office, headed up by Bill Johnson, who ran a successful lighting agency in Kuala Lumpur for many years. Current projects in Dubai include landscape and clubhouse lighting for Greg Norman golf courses, an aquarium, and theme parks.
Hoyes looks forward to working on “business development, project management, and some design work,” focusing on mixed use/destination projects and performing arts facilities, the latter his area of greatest expertise.
The company also has offices in Atlanta, Beijing, & Orlando, and serves as a multidisciplinary lighting and controls design firm that provides lighting solutions for a multitude of applications from retail, themed entertainment and mixed-use projects to commercial offices, facades and site landscaping, hotels and conventions centers, gaming venues, educational and public institutions, performing arts & museum facilities.
