Protechnical Charity Event For Lighting Technicians In May

Lighting technicians are invited to attend a unique training and social event on May 6th in Solihull, near Birmingham, UK.

The hosts (Solihull Society of Arts) and organizers (UKSLC.ORG - UK Sound and Lighting Community) have assembled a top team of leading UK console manufacturers to deliver training on the latest lighting desks and entertainment technology throughout the day.

Brand names like Compulite, MA Lighting, Chamsys, Electronic Theatre Controls (ETC), Zero 88, and Robe are providing a wide variety of lighting control equipment for attendees to use, and their staff will be on hand to answer questions for console operators at all levels of experience.

The training sessions are designed to cater for everyone from drama pupils wishing to learn about "real world" performance technology, to freelancers who want to practice on new consoles, and seasoned LX operators who want to get the latest shortcut tips from the manufacturers.

In the evening, there will be a party with a licensed bar and live music from DJs and local bands, providing a rare opportunity for entertainment technicians to relax and meet fellow professionals in a friendly and informal atmosphere.

Profits from the event will be donated to registered charities, including the Society of Arts and the local school (Alderbrook Arts College), which is hosting the event.

The event will take place at The Edge Complex, Blossomfield Rd., Solihull, West Midlands, B91 1SN.
