Phoebus Manufacturing Acquires FabMore Precision

Phoebus Manufacturing

president John Tedesco has announced the acquisition of FabMore Precision, an automated sheet-metal forming company located in San Carlos, CA. The acquisition quadruples Phoebus’ square footage and brings under one roof the parts production for both the Ultra Arc followspot and Silver Beam searchlight lines of theatrical lighting products.

“The enthusiastic reception given to our new i-marc™ spotlight and the demands of several other products under development dictated the need for a bigger, more capable facility,” said Tedesco, who added that Phoebus has enjoyed e a long relationship with FabMore’s former owner, Ernst (Ernie) Kroisandt, who will remain with the company for the next year to facilitate the transition.

Phoebus Manufacturing is known for its line of products and custom fabrications. Using the GE Mark 350 project lamp as a source, the company was the first to offer an enclosed arc alternative to carbon with the original Ultra Arc™ followspot introduced in 1978. This was followed by the 1981 unveiling of the Ultra Arc II™, the first theatrical fixture to use the HTI 400 lamp. The i-marc™ spotlight, introduced to the market in March, is the first of a new generation of fixtures being built around Ushio America’s Enhanced Metal Arcs lamps. The i-marc will be seen at Booth 624 ad LDI, November 21-23 in Orlando, FL.

A website for the new facility is currently under construction and should be available soon at www.fabmorprecision.com.
