Panja No More, AMX Announces Appointments

After a stint under the name of Panja, Richardson, TX-based AMX Corp. has assumed its former name and announced new appointments. R. Randal Riebe has been named vice president of strategic planning. In this new role, the company says Riebe will use his broad industry knowledge and perspective to best position AMX to lead the industry and plan for future market opportunities.

Riebe joined AMX in 1997 as director of the videoconferencing and OEM sales divisions. Since then, he has served in various capacities, including national sales manager, vice president of sales, and vice president and general manager. Prior to joining AMX, Riebe had a 20-year career in executive positions in the professional audio, video, and telecommunications industries.

Michael Olinger has been named vice president of sales. He will use his distributor and dealer experience to lead both the domestic and international sales teams in his new role. He joined AMX in 1994 as vice president of international sales, and has been responsible for leading the international sales teams and global offices to record sales growth. In 1998, Olinger established AMX’s World Partner Network to provide AMX’s international distributors and dealers improved communications and support. Prior to joining AMX, he had a 20-year career in international sales and management.

Other new promotions: Lynnette Gracey, director of international sales, is responsible for the day-to- day operation of AMX’s international team and the overall management of the World Partner Network. Gracey’s career in the international audio and visual technology industry began in 1992. Since joining AMX in 1998, Gracey has served in several key capacities, most recently as manager, Latin America and the Caribbean. Gracey reports directly to Olinger.

Michael Peveler, director of training, has played a key role in the development of AMX University, an award-winning, technology-training venue. He has increased the company’s dealer training efforts by developing specialized, hands-on courses. Brian Hertia, director of P3, AMX’s Protocol Partner Program, joined AMX in January of this year as the Eastern account executive for residential systems. In his new role, Hertia will oversee the operations of the technical research and protocol development efforts for the company. Before joining AMX, Hertia spent four years as manager of dealer development for residential systems with Lutron.
