Osram Sylvania Announces Spsonsorship Of IIDA Award

Osram Sylvania

has announced that it will sponsor the Energy and Environmental Design Award, part of the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America’s International Illumination Design Awards, starting in 2004.

The Energy and Environmental Design Award recognizes quality lighting installations in commercial and industrial buildings that incorporate advanced energy-saving strategies and environmentally responsible solutions into the overall design. National and international members of the IESNA are invited to submit their project for recognition to a panel of judges for sectional, regional and international review and recognition. Awards will be given to projects that address design complexity, enjoy unique lighting design, and incorporate energy efficient strategies and key elements of sustainability.

“Everyone at Osram Sylvania is proud to recognize excellence in energy and environmental design with this award,” said Henny Peters, executive vice president and general manager of the company’s General Lighting division. ”We have been focusing on energy efficient and environmentally friendlier products for some time now, and it is very important to Osram Sylvania to acknowledge those who share our vision and goals.”

“Energy effectiveness and environmental design is not only important to the lighting community, but to the architectural community as well,” said William Hanley, executive vice president of the IESNA. “We are very pleased that Osram Sylvania will be sponsoring this award and look forward to recognizing the outstanding projects that are submitted for this honor.”
