The New York Public Library for Performing Arts has added Jules Fisher’s personal collection of over 150 scenic renderings and designs of Jo Mielziner to its already substantial holdings, resulting in one of the largest archives of the artist’s work open to the public anywhere.

Tony Award-winning lighting designer and creative consultant for Broadway Lighting Master Classes, Jules Fisher collected designs spanning the entirety of Mielziner’s historic career and in every stage of the theatrical designer’s process, from rough outlines to painted renderings.

The Jules Fisher Collection of Jo Mielziner Designs includes work from the theatrical designer’s most iconic Broadway shows, such as Guys and Dolls, Gypsy, Most Happy Fella, Death of a Salesman, and rare documentation from Roger and Hammerstein’s Allegro.

After being processed and preserved digitally, The Jules Fisher Collection of Jo Mielziner Designs will be available at The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts at Lincoln Center.
