The North American Association of Flying Effects Directors

presents a Flying Effects Workshop. This workshop will be held at Northern Illinois University in Dekalb, Illinois, September 5-8, 2002. This workshop and conference is intended for anyone who wants to learn to safely rig flying effects involving performers. The presenters are Delbert L. Hall and Tracy Nunnally

Material covered includes: mechanical advantage, simple and inter-related pendulum systems, tracked systems, motorized flying systems, harnesses, safety procedures, tips on choreographing flying effects, special hardware, and many other aspects of flying performers. This workshop provides both classroom and "hands-on" experience with at least 10 different types of flying systems.

The workshop will start at 1:30pm on September 5 and end at 11:30am on September 8. This schedule means that most participants can fly in on the 5th and out on the 8th. Limo service from Chicago airports is available, and hotel costs in Dekalb are very reasonable.
