NEC and High End Systems Collaborate on New Video Lighting Control System

NEC Solutions (America), Inc., a leading display manufacturer, and High End Systems, Inc. (HES), world leader in automated lighting, affirmed they will work together to make HES' three-dimensional video and lighting system compatible with NEC's High Light Output (HLO) projection technology. This version of the Catalyst system was demonstrated for the first time at the NEC Solutions booth during INFOCOMM 2002 tradeshow, held June 12-14 in Las Vegas.

Referred to as "moving media in motion," High End's Catalyst system combines the power of digital media with the creativity of automated effects lighting. The system allows users to load video or images, then scale, rotate, zoom, edit, morph, color mix, overlay or blend to create the desired effect.

NEC's HLO projection technology, famous for its flexible designs and high reliability, offers the right combination of high brightness, resolution and color uniformity, making it an ideal fit for Catalyst. The integrated control system will be marketed to the large venue entertainment industry for professional touring, architectural lighting and bar/nightclub applications.

"We are pleased to collaborate with HES by providing advanced projection technology and integration support," said Greg Patrick, director of the OEM/Integrator business for NEC Solutions, Visual Systems Division.

"High End Systems is excited to collaborate with NEC to promote Catalyst," agreed Bobby Hale, product manager for High End Systems' Catalyst. "This is a continuation of HES' efforts to establish relationships in the AV industry."
