The entertainment industry has experienced another tragedy as fellow professional, Yoan Plourde, a video technician on the Jann Arden tour, passed away on Friday, September 5, according to Times Colonist. He had worked a show with Arden at Victoria's Royal Theatre that Thursday night. The Solotech employee was just 25 years old.

Plourde's death was unrelated to work or the tour. The British Columbia Coroners Service confirmed Plourde as the man who fell from the fourth floor balcony of the Parkside Hotel and Spa in Victoria at around 2:30 a.m.

Solotech's vice president of international business development, Richard Lachance says that Plourde was a brilliant video technician who "loved his work and his co-workers with a passion and people loved him back in the same manner," according to Times Colonist.

Plourde is an only child and leaves behind his parents in Levis near Quebec. He will be missed.

Arden posted this on Twitter shortly after the news on Friday: "There are days that test the human heart; Long shadows that cast themselves like a fisherman's net; Capturing every doubt you hold."
