In Memoriam: Lee Griffin

Lee Griffin

of Performance Video Projection (also called Performance AV) of Baltimore, MD, was killed last Thursday night in a carjacking in front of his home in Annapolis. Griffin had many friends in the touring and corporate event world.

A memorial ceremony was held Sunday, Sept. 22, at the Loving Funeral Home in Portsmouth, VA, and the funeral service was held Monday, September 23, at the nearby Churchland Baptist Church, also in Portsmouth.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Maryland at 8600 LaSalle Rd., Baltimore, MD 21286. Griffin was a big supporter of this charity and was about to be made trustee.

Performance Video has supplied services for a number of major tours over the years including the Grateful Dead, U2's Zoo TV tour, the Rolling Stones' Steel Wheels, Janet Jackson, Paula Abdul, Alan Jackson (for country tours, Performance Video call themselves "Moo TV"), Tim McGraw--the list goes on and on.

The industry has lost a good friend. How sad, and how senseless this all is. Griffin always wanted to tour with Elvis. Looks like he will now be joining him.
