In Memoriam: David A. Evans

David A. Evans, LC, died Thursday, July 5, of diabetes complications. Evans was a senior architectural lighting designer for Los Angeles-based Team Imagination, Inc., where he worked on design and conceptual development for themed and architectural projects. He was working on several projects at the time of his death.

Evans, who was born in 1950, worked on the board of directors of the Los Angeles Designers Lighting Forum for nearly 20 years. The National Council of Qualifications for Lighting Professionals certified him in 1998. He was also a member of the Illuminating Engineering Society and an associate member of the International Association of Lighting Designers.

Since 1971, Evans had worked in architectural lighting, and he had been involved in all phases of the lighting industry, including national sales manager for Architectural Cathode Lighting in Los Angeles. He also spent several years as project estimator and lighting designer for Current Electric. While there, Evans served as lighting designer for several notable architectural projects, including a Paul Williams house originally built for Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall. Later, he worked for a number of lighting design firms, including Wheel, Gerztoff, Selles (WGS Lighting Design), Lighting Design Alliance, Passamonte Lighting Design, Gallegos Lighting Design, and Walt Disney Imagineering.

A memorial service will be held at Our Lady of Lords Church, 18405 Superior St., Northridge, CA 91325, on Saturday, July 14 at 11am. All are welcome.
