Maxson Joins Meyer Tech Support Team

Michael Maxson has joined Meyer Sound as a technical support assistant, based at the company's Berkeley, CA, headquarters. Maxon comes to Meyer following five years as a systems designer and engineer at Walt Disney Entertainment in Orlando.

"Michael's skills and personality make him a perfect match for this position," says John Monitto, Meyer Sound's technical support manager. "He comes to the job with an in-depth operational knowledge of Meyer Sound products, and he knows how to coordinate the details of complex projects. Plus, he has a positive attitude that promotes good customer relationships."

In his new position, Maxson will assume a variety of responsibilities, including technical support of trade shows and on-site product demos, writing and editing of technical documentation, and one-on-one customer support over the phone and by e-mail.

Maxson is a 1997 graduate of the Full Sail School in Orlando, where he was honored with the Advanced Achievement Award. He is also a graduate of Meyer Sound's SIM® School.

Among Maxson's wide-ranging duties at Disney were key roles for the First 2002 event at EPCOT and events at Disney's Wide World of Sports, audio systems design and installation at Millennium Village Theater, and A-1 responsibilities for major corporate events.

Maxson looks forward to his new role of representing and supporting Meyer Sound products. "Meyer has always been known as the cutting-edge manufacturer," he says. "To me, they are the only company that has really gone beyond simply making loudspeakers and instead has approached problems as a whole, from acoustical design through precise measurement."

He adds that his respect for Meyer Sound products stems back to the first time he heard the MSL-4, but his admiration for Meyer Sound technology was cemented when he mixed on the Meyer M3D Line Array system at the First 2002 event. "The M3D just blew me away with its clarity and consistency of coverage," he says.
