Lighting Design Scholarships Available

The IALD Education Trust announces 2005 scholarship information is now available on the IALD website www.iald.org. Scholarship applications are due to IALD headquarters by February 1, 2005.

The IALD Education Trust offers multiple scholarships every year in amounts ranging from $500 to $5000 for undergraduate and graduate students involved in the study of architectural lighting design. Last year the IALD Education Trust Fund awarded over $17,000 in scholarships.

Applicants must be students who are pursuing architectural lighting design as a course of study. The students will be judged on grades, extracurricular activities, a written statement about a personal experience with lighting as well as professional recommendations. Scholarship winners also may be selected to be a guest of the IALD at Lightfair International and at the IALD Awards ceremony, which will take place April 13, 2005 in New York City.

The IALD Education Trust is a non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization that works in partnership with the IALD to further the growth and development of the architectural lighting design profession. Its mission is to support and encourage educational efforts in the qualitative and artistic aspect of lighting design.

The IALD Education Trust is governed by a Board of Directors composed of IALD members, educators, manufacturers and allied professionals.
