Leadership Change At Electrosonic Group

The board of Electrosonic Group today announced that Jim Bowie has been appointed president. Bowie now oversees the global operations and strategy for Electrosonic’s combined businesses in the US, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.

With this change of leadership, the Burbank office becomes the group operational headquarters. Electrosonic maintains offices in Burbank, Minneapolis, New York, Orlando, London, Helsinki, Stockholm, Dubai, and Shanghai.

Bowie replaces Kyle Carpenter, who began his tenure in 1996. During the past 11 years the company has grown five-fold, posting $150 million in turnover in 2007.

“The Group’s geographic footprint has expanded around the world, most recently with the opening of the Dubai office,” Carpenter says, who also expanded on the Group’s core competencies in systems integration, design, and video display with the creation of an international service business. “I am proud to leave the Group better than I found it.”

Bowie joined Electrosonic in 1987 as a project engineer and since 1995 has served as general manager for the US systems integration and media networks businesses.

“Electrosonic is ready for its next phase of growth,” Bowie says. “We have broad and deep expertise in our systems integration, design, operations, service, and specialized product teams; we intend to bring all our strength to bear on all our markets and continue our success in supporting customers throughout the entire life cycle of their projects.”
