LDI Attendance Defies The Forecast

The preliminary numbers are in for the year’s LDI show in Orlando, and they’re pretty impressive, defying the odds and even the forecast, especially given challenges that the show has faced in 2007.

When compared to the 2005 show, also in Orlando, this year’s pre-registration attendance already forecasts a 71% increase over two years ago. Historically, the show draws more attendance when in Las Vegas, so the trusty number-crunchers at LDI usually compare statistics every alternate year in order to have a true apples-to-apples comparison (Orlando 05 to Orlando 07, Las Vegas 06 to Las Vegas 04, etc.).

However, what's even more impressive is that the current numbers are showing that this year's show is actually drawing 33% more attendance than last year's show in Las Vegas.

“We are so pleased with all these great stats,” says group show director Sharon Morabito, “especially the comparison to last year’s show in Vegas, where attendance is usually higher than Orlando. It’s been no secret out there that we had some challenges earlier in the year, but the numbers don’t lie, and it looks like this will be one of the most successful LDI shows yet. Attendees and exhibitors alike are sure to have a successful show.”

The conference sessions are also bringing in increased figures. Attendance there is tracking 4% higher in Orlando than last year’s Vegas show and up 33% from the last Orlando show in 2005.

Now, we just have to all get there. See you next week, and here’s to a great LDI.
