Jeff Ravitz Lights Hispanic Award Show

Emmy® winner Jeff Ravitz, a partner in Visual Terrain, designed the lighting for the fifth annual El Premio de la Gente®, Latin Music Fan Awards 2003. The show was shot at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas on Thursday, October 16, 2003. Ravitz used over 500 fixtures to light the production numbers, the award presentations, the audience, and the scenery designed by René Lagler. The show was broadcast on the Telemundo Network on November 2, 2003.

"The producers envisioned a very polished production, which I believe we delivered," says Ravitz. "The director, design team and executive producers collaborated closely to craft a show that would be in keeping with the highest standards of television awards programs."

Jeff Ravitz received a Primetime Emmy® for his design of the Bruce Springsteen HBO special. He recently created lighting for another huge Hispanic special, the annual El Grito celebration for Univision, broadcast from the steps outside LA City Hall. Last year’s El Grito won Ravitz an Aurora Award®. Other new releases include the current Rush in Rio DVD, a soon to be released Boz Scaggs double DVD, and a comedy special for Comedy Central.
