Internships Available For Pittsburgh CLO’s 2006 Summer Season

Pittsburgh CLO currently has applications available for its 2006 Summer Internship Program. The Summer Internship Program runs approximately 10 weeks beginning in mid-May to early June, depending upon the internship being applied for, and affords students 18 years of age and older the opportunity to work one-on-one with musical theatre industry professionals.

Internships are available in the following areas: Cabaret Theatre, Choreography, Company Management, Costume Coordination, Development, Education & Outreach, Special Events/Administration, Hair Design, Lighting Design, Musical Direction, Property Coordination, Public Relations/Marketing, Sound Design, Stage Direction, Stage Management, Video Production and Web Design.

Running June 6 through August 6 at the Benedum Center, CLO’s 2006 Summer Season includes new productions of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, Grease, 42nd Street, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers and Bombay Dreams. By working behind-the-scenes on Pittsburgh CLO’s 2006 Summer Season, interns will receive professional training and invaluable hands-on experience in both musical theatre and non-profit administration.

Established in 1973 and funded through the generosity of the CLO Guild, the CLO Internship program provides students with a weekly honorarium to cover expenses and the opportunity for college credit, but more importantly each intern is given the chance to pursue their artistic interests professionally.

For an application, call Ann Battistel at (412) 281-2234 or visit www.pittsburghCLO.org. Applications must be submitted by the first week of March.

Since 1946, the Pittsburgh CLO non-profit arts organization has been the driving force behind live musical theatre in Pittsburgh and the entire Southwestern Pennsylvania region.
