ICIA Selects Atlanta to Host InfoComm 2004

The International Communications Industries Association, Inc. (ICIA) has announced that the city of Atlanta will host InfoComm 2004, the world’s largest professional AV communications and systems integration industry exposition. InfoComm 2004 will be held the week of June 9-11, 2004 at the Georgia World Congress Center located in downtown Atlanta adjacent to the Olympic Centennial Park, CNN Center and the Georgia Dome.

“We’re excited to have selected Atlanta to be our host city for InfoComm 2004,” says Randy Lemke, ICIA’s executive director. “While Las Vegas and Orlando remain top destination cities for our show, we’ve listened to our exhibitors and attendees who have indicated a preference to rotate destinations. After the InfoComm Exhibitor Committee and ICIA Board of Governors spent a lot of time researching cities, they concluded that Atlanta was the right city for us in 2004. Atlanta is a vibrant business hub that will draw visitors from not only the southeastern region but across the U.S. and around the world. Atlanta is also a great city to visit because of its many cultural and recreational venues. I know our international attendees will enjoy the city that hosted the Olympics, is home to the Braves, and is the gateway to the Masters Golf Tournament.”

“The city of Atlanta is pleased to be hosting the 25,000 AV industry professionals that will visit us for InfoComm 2004,” stated Spurgeon Richardson, Atlanta Convention and Visitors Bureau president. “We are delighted to welcome such a growing and dynamic TradeShow Week 200 trade exposition to Atlanta. We pride ourselves on offering state-of-the-art services and attractions with a business environment second to none; we’re proud to be InfoComm’s new home in 2004.”

ICIA projections anticipate more than 25,000 attendees, 600+ exhibitors and more than 350,000 net square feet of exhibits for InfoComm 2004 at the Georgia World Congress Center. In addition, InfoComm will plan to offer more than 200 educational sessions in conjunction with “InfoComm Week” in Atlanta.

In the meantime, InfoComm 2003 will be held June 3-5, 2003 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida.
