ICIA Elects Russell Gentner to Board of Governors

Russell Gentner

, president of Listen Technologies Corporation,was elected to the International Communications Industries Association (ICIA) Board of Governors.

ICIA produces InfoComm, the premier international trade association representing dealers, manufacturers, design consultants, independent representatives, end users and other individuals in the audiovisual industry. It also sponsors InfoCommIQ (an online resource for AV integrators and manufacturers), InfoComm Academy (the AV industry's leading training and professional development resource), and other professional development and educational efforts.

Gentner, Listen's president and co-founder, is a Utah native that earned an electrical engineering degree from the University of Utah in 1977 and his MBA in 1990. Gentner founded Gentner Communications in 1981, eventually taking the company public on NASDAQ and helping to build it into a major player in the broadcast and audio/visual industry. In 1998 Gentner co-founded Listen Technologies Corporation.

Gentner is a past member of the ICIA Executive Committee and ICIA Board of Governors. He has also served as Board Member for Great Western Bank, and presently serves on the board of the University of Utah Broadcast Council.

Listen is dedicated to helping people hear better by providing wireless audio solutions. Listen's FM frequency products are used extensively for auditory assistance, language interpretation, tour group facilitation, soundfield, and other audio presentation applications worldwide. Listen products also assist organizations in meeting the US American's with Disabilities Act and similar auditory assistance guidelines for hearing impaired individuals. Listen also promotes the extensive uses and benefits of wireless audio, producing new technologies and products as new applications are developed.
