IALD Call for Design Entries

The deadline for the 22nd Annual International Association of Lighting Designers Awards Call for Entries is December 1. The awards program recognizes lighting projects that display high aesthetic achievement backed by technical expertise. Details are posted on the IALD website. Also on the website are the judging criteria and worksheets that will be used during the judging process.

This year the IALD will accept submissions by both CD and through its ftp site. Additionally, some changes have been made to the sustainable judging criteria. "You’ll find it helpful to read carefully the submissions information. We’ve tried to emphasize elements that the judges look for and inquire about during the judging process," explains Kenneth A. Douglas, IALD Awards Chairman. "We continue to fine-tune the process to best meet the needs of those entering and provide results that truly honor excellence in architectural lighting design."

Last year the IALD had over 130 entries from 11 countries. The IALD hopes to exceed this number in 2005. Winners will be announced on April 13, 2005, in New York City at the IALD Awards Presentation and Trust Benefit Gala held in conjunction with Lightfair.
