IALD Announces Annual Meeting and Conference for 2004

The IALD (International Association of Lighting Designers) has announced that its 34th IALD Annual Meeting and 4th Education Conference will be held January 30 and 31, 2004, in Vancouver, BC, Canada. The events will be held at the Morris J. Wosk Centre for Dialogue at Simon Fraser University and the attached Delta Vancouver Suites Hotel in Vancouver, BC.

This year, the theme of the conference will focus on value and quality:

The quality that a professional lighting designer brings to a project;

The value of communication between manufacturer and specifier to create high quality equipment for high quality results at high value;

The value of sound business practices to move your company forward in this volatile economy;

The Conference program highlights include two seminar tracks: A Business Track and a Design Track for members at all interest levels. Additional events include:

Town Hall Meeting: Brings members together in an open forum to discuss important issues facing designers and manufacturers today;

“Lighting Cross Talk”: Focused round table discussions between LIRC and IALD members;

IALD Annual Business Meeting: Report on the state of the association, meet your new Board of Directors;

Recognition of volunteer members for outstanding contributions over the past year;

Networking: Opportunities to meet with old friends and make new ones;

A Celebration: Of our members, of our profession, of lighting design excellence.

Established in 1969, the IALD is an international organization dedicated to the profession of architectural lighting design. Based in Chicago and comprised of over 700 members throughout North and South America, Europe, Asia and Australia, the IALD’s role is to set the global standard for lighting design excellence.
