Faculty Announced For Architectural Lighting Master Classes

The third annual Architectural Lighting Master Classes (ALMC) will be held in New York City on March 11 and 12, 2004. The faculty of award winning lighting experts that will participate in this two-day seminar includes:

HOWARD BRANDSTON (keynote speaker) has more than forty years experience in lighting design, engineering and electronics, designing illumination for more than 2,500 commercial, institutional, residential and governmental projects.

PAUL GREGORY is the founder and president of Focus Lighting of New York City. He has spent the last eighteen years revealing and highlighting architecture by "painting pictures with light."

JONATHAN SPEIRS is a Lighting Architect with over twenty years experience as an independent lighting consultant and designer. He is a Principal of Speirs and Major Associates based in the UK with studios in Edinburgh and London and has worked internationally on projects in 36 countries.

ANN KALE is president of Ann Kale Associates located in New York City. Established in 1988, she and her staff have completed projects including institutions, corporate headquarters, museums and galleries, hospitality, retail, health care and residences.

FRED OBERKIRCHER is an Associate Professor and Director of the Center for Lighting Education in the Department of Design, Merchandising, and Textiles at Texas Christian University. WILLARD WARREN is the founder and president of Willard L. Warren Associate, Inc., based in New York City. Mr. Warren has an extensive, in-depth knowledge of energy conservation.

RAY GRENALD founded Grenald Waldron Associates in 1968. Ray is a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects (FAIA), Past President and a Fellow of the International Association of Lighting Designers (FIALD) and a Fellow of the Illuminating Engineering Society (FIES).

ROBERT PROUSE has been a member of the International Association of Lighting Designers since 1977, where he has served on the Membership Committee, the Board of Directors, and as a judge for the Lighting Design Awards program.

SONNY SONNENFELD is the founder of the Architectural Lighting Master Classes- inaugurated in 2002 and the Broadway Lighting Master Classes. He has worked with many of the nation’s most prestigious lighting companies and designers for 50 years. He has written many articles, and has lectured on architectural, theatrical, and television lighting.
