Extra! Extra! Jonathan Deans A Late Addition to BSMC

This just in: acclaimed sound designer Jonathan Deans has agreed to participate in this year’s Broadway Sound Master Classes, to be held June 18-20 in New York. Deans will share the stage with faculty chair Abe Jacob to discuss “Broadway Sound: An Overview” on Saturday, June 19.

Though perhaps best known for his work on such Cirque du Soleil shows as Zumanity, Saltimbanco, “O”, Mystère, and La Nouba, Deans has amassed a long list of credits on Broadway as well, from the recent Taboo to such shows as Follies, The Music Man, Fosse, and Ragtime. He also designed the sound for EFX in Vegas, as well as numerous plays, operas and a number of attractions in theme parks. He has also taught the subtleties of his art to graduate students at the University of California in Los Angeles (UCLA).

The rest of the faculty for this year’s event includes Tony Meola, Dan Moses Schreier, Jon Weston, Rob Milburn, Michael Bodeen, and John Kilgore.
