ETC To Distribute Pharos Architectural Controls In Noth America

ETC (Electronic Theatre Controls, Inc.) announced that they will take on the sales and distribution of Pharos-brand controls products through the ETC North American sales channel. These products will now be available for specification, sales and service through ETC and its representatives throughout North America. Pharos Architectural Controls is an off-shoot of R&D company Carallon Ltd. Their award-winning first product represents a new interpretation of an older idea: unattended entertainment-style control of lighting devices, typically in an architectural or themed setting. Pharos makes two variants of its compact solid-state Lighting Playback Controller (LPC) and a host of expansion modules for additional interfacing options. A key element of the product range is the freely available Designer Software, a powerful and intuitive tool for designing artistic lighting using the latest technologies -- LED’s, automated fixtures and pixel-mapped video clip playback.

“It’s our belief that Pharos has redefined the tools for this type of lighting, combining powerful design and simulation software, an innovative hardware solution, integration with other systems, and features like remote diagnostics and content changes,” comments Joe Bokelman, Architectural Market Manager for ETC. “This is what both designers and facility managers want for themed entertainment-style lighting installations.”

“Distributing the Pharos products represents a new addition to our sales strategy in North America,” Bokelman continues. “The Pharos controls are able to interface very well with our own ETC products. The specification community has been asking us about how to use them together. The products will land on many projects together, so a distribution and service arrangement made good sense. It’s a good fit.”
