Electrosonic Hires Les Hill As Sales Engineer

Electrosonic Systems, Inc. (Electrosonic) announces that Les Hill has joined the company as sales engineer. Hill brings extensive experience in international technical and project management to his new position.

“We are delighted that Les has come on board at Electrosonic,” said Jim Bowie, general manager of Electrosonic’s North American Systems Business. “Les has more than 25 years experience in the technical management of large international projects, primarily rides and attractions in the themed entertainment business, so we stand to benefit from his wide-ranging skills.”

“Throughout my career, I’ve known about Electrosonic’s reputation for the quality project management and engineering. I also knew of the reliability of its products, and I have integrated them seamlessly into cutting-edge projects,” Hill noted. “But upon joining Electrosonic, what struck me immediately was the warmth, friendliness and generosity of the people who greeted me.”

For the past six years, Hill was project director for the attraction development division of Iwerks Entertainment, Inc. where he worked in the US and abroad on a host of attractions. His work there included the development, scripting, and implementation of in-seat and in-theatre special effects for new 4D venues at the Luxor Hotel, Universal Studios, Sea World, and Star Parks.

Earlier, Hill was project technical manager for one of the four “lands” at Universal Studios, Osaka, Japan; manager of production for JMC-Themed Entertainment Group, a start-up division of Jack Morton Company; project manager/show producer for Iwerks’s Cinetropolis in the Foxwoods Resort and Casino in Connecticut; show systems manager for Splash Mountain at Walt Disney World, Orlando and show/ride manager of the Indiana Jones Adventure at Disneyland; and general manager for Iwerks’s Ridewerks Turbo Tour simulator attractions in Japan, Taiwan, Indonesia and Sweden.
