Electronic Theatre Controls Offers $50,000 Challenge Grant

The ESTA Foundation is honored to announce a major challenge has been issued by Electronic Theatre Controls to the entertainment technology industry to step up to the plate at LDI 2007 for Behind the Scenes.

In announcing the Electronic Theatre Controls $50,000 Challenge Grant, CEO Fred Foster says, “Our industry runs on the flexibility, skills, and artistry of people who dedicate themselves to creating the magic of the theatre. Sadly, this means that many times an illness or crisis can catch one of us without the support of full benefits and insurance. The ESTA Foundation’sBehind the Scenes program provides a perfect way for us, as an industry, to provide a much-needed backstop to this shortfall.

Electronic Theatre Controls is proud to follow the path of other individual and corporate donors to support the Behind the Scenes effort. We hope that our donation will spur others to support this cause. If you haven’t contributed to Behind the Scenes, please take the challenge to do so now.”

There are many ways to support Behind the Scenes during LDI 2007, November 16-18 in Orlando. The Foundation will be raffling off the beautiful custom bike known as the "Broadway Chopper" as well as $2,500 and $1,000 Visa gift cards. Raffle tickets are available online through October 31st or at the Behind the Scenes booth #1245 during the show. You can try your hand at LDI's first ever Texas Hold 'Em Tournament on Saturday evening with all proceeds going to Behind the Scenes, or you can spread some holiday cheer by purchasing Behind the Scenes Holiday Cards at booth #1245.

If raffles, poker, or holiday cards aren't your thing, you can still help meet the Electronic Theatre Controls Challenge. The volunteers at the Behind the Scenes booth will be delighted to accept your individual or corporate contribution.

Don't leave your colleagues in the dark. Let Electronic Theatre Controls know their challenge has been heard and answered by an industry that's serious about caring for its own.
