Digital Projection to Offer Training Classes

Digital Projection Inc. (DPI), the manufacturer of high performance projection systems, has launched two newly created user/operator certification training classes.

An introductory certification course, titled "Digital Projection 101 (DP101)," is a three-day program that provides basic instruction on the operation and maintenance of the company's high-performance projection systems--HIGHlite, POWER, THUNDER & LIGHTNING Displays.

The DP101 class curriculum specializes in teaching the fundamentals of setup, calibration, lamp replacement and a gamut of technical tips designed to optimize performance. The course is designed for projectionists, including imaging technicians from professional AV dealers, staging companies, event management experts, consultants and freelancers, that specialize in the day-to-day integration and calibration of high-performance display systems in a wide variety of venues.

Upon the satisfactory completion of brief exit exam on the final day, users are issued certificates of completion. The three-day course is $150 for employees of authorized DPI dealers, special contractors and staging partners and $300 for non-dealers. DP101 is a prerequisite for DP201.

Digital Projection Master's 201 (DPMasters201) is a more detailed instruction tailored for advanced users for those who have already completed DP101 and have years of projection field experience.

The class features "hands-on" assignments for trouble-shooting components and image modulators as well as repair specific to optics, mechanics, hardware and software.

The three-day DPMasters201 class is $250 for employees of authorized DPI dealers, special contractors staging partners, $500 for non-dealers.

"These courses are designed as much more than continuing education," says Keith Frey, DPI's application engineering and training manager. "They are an opportunity for attendees to learn the hands-on skills that will set them apart in the projection display marketplace."

Intimate, interactive and personalized classes are held once a month and instruction is led by a DPI application engineer.
