Digital Projection Inc. (DPI), an Emmy*-Award-winning manufacturer of high-performance projection systems, announced the launch of a new entertainment-oriented single-chip projection display based on DLP(tm) technology, the iVision HD. The 1280 x 720 native resolution iVision HD joins the recently introduced 3,000 ANSI lumen iVision SX in DPI's product line, and will be exhibited at infoComm 2003 (Booth #1849, June 3 to 5, Orlando).
Weighing only 6.5 pounds, the iVision HD delivers 1,000 ANSI lumens and 2300:1 contrast ratio, in an ultra-compact and portable chassis. The iVision HD is specifically designed for a wide variety of home cinema, media and entertainment applications.

In addition to the iVision HD, later this year DPI will introduce the MERCURY HD, a high-performance, entry-level 3-chip projection system featuring the same 1280 x 720 DLP(tm) technology employed in the iVision HD.
The MERCURY HD will be positioned as DPI's flagship product for mid-range home cinemas, and is perfect for home theater enthusiasts who desire the visually powerful 3-chip DLP(tm) experience at a great value. The MERCURY HD is suitable for screens up to 12-feet wide. The MERCURY HD and iVision HD complement DPI's existing line of 3-chip DLP(tm)-based home cinema projection systems including the HIGHlite Platinum HC, Gold HC and the flagship DLP Cinema(tm) certified iS10. However, the MERCURY and iVision displays are positioned to compete with less capable entry-level projectors in the market, significantly expanding DPI's home cinema product line and providing superior choices for consumers seeking high-performance imaging and value for their home cinemas.

With shipments commencing in June 2003, the iVision HD comes standard with a 1.75-2.25:1 zoom lens as well as a soft-shell carrying case and infrared remote control. Optional accessories include a 1.0:1 wide-angle lens and ceiling mount.
