Declan Weir Productions Relocates; Hires New GM

Declan Weir Productions, Inc., has moved to a new 23,000-sq.-ft. facility, located at 205 Eddystone Avenue, Eddystone PA 19022. Phase one of this move is designed to help the company increase its output of scenery, exhibit, and event production work in the Philadelphia area, thanks to new machinery. Custom fabrications using steel, aluminum, foam, plastics, wood, laminates, and fiber optics will be enhanced, and the company’s new CNC router will allow the creation of multiples of any 3D object with high precision and speed.

The second phase of the company’s plan is to add a 6,0000 sq. ft. setup space with 35’ ceilings, a 9,000-sq-ft. paint floor and a 7,500-sq.-ft. warehouse on the lot adjacent to the present facility.

In other news, Neil Kutner has been appointed as general manager of Declan Weir Productions. He comes to the company from the Wilma Theatre in Philadelphia, where he spent the last nine years as production manager. During that time, he was responsible for all aspects of production, in addition to playing a key role in the design and construction management of the Wilma’s $8-million facility on The Avenue of the Arts. Over the past 15 years, Kutner has produced dozens of corporate events for clients such as Dupont, Johnson & Johnson, and the City of Philadelphia. For the last five years, he has been show producer of the Barrymore Awards and for the last six years, an adjunct professor at the University of the Arts.

Declan Weir Productions is a full-service shop which designs and produces scenery and displays for theatres, cruise ships, trade shows, museum, and national sales meetings. The company’s event division has produced events for National Catholic Youth Conference, SmithKline Beecham, and Aetna/US Healthcare.
