Cirque du Soleil Seeking Technical Staff

Cirque du Soleil currently has two successful shows running in Las Vegas: Mystère at Treasure Island, and "O" at Bellagio. But Cirque di Soleil fans will be happy to know that two more productions are in the pipeline, both of which will require increased technical staff for Cirque's operations in Las Vegas.

Cirque du Soleil, in partnership with MGM MIRAGE Group, has announced that two new resident shows in Las Vegas will open by the spring of 2004. The first production is set to open in the summer of 2003 at the New York-New York Hotel Casino, with the second new show opening in 2004 at the MGM-Grand. Luc Lafortune is scheduled to design the lighting for both productions, while Mark Fisher, production designer for The Rolling Stones, Tina Turner, and Janet Jackson, among others, will design the decor for the show at the MGM-Grand.

The New York-New York Hotel theatre is currently being renovated and customized to house the new production. With an eye to redefining the music hall genre, this intimate, exotic and provocative show will serve up an original mix of dance, humor and acrobatics. "Each act promises to be a sensual, artistic experience of the highest calibre," says Lyn Heward, President & COO of Cirque du Soleil's Creative Content Division.

Cirque du Soleil is currently accepting applications for experienced stage supervisors and stage technical crew in the areas of: Lighting, Carpentry/Props, Sound, Rigging, Automations and Wardrobe. Candidates should forward their resume, along with a cover letter stating their salary expectations and clearly specifying their area of interest to:
