Christie Lites Announces New Staffers

is pleased to announce the appointment of Howard Van Schaick to the position of rentals representative and Michael Wilkinson as lighting technician, both additions to the team at Christie Lites Calgary.

Van Schaick brings with him 22 years experience in the entertainment industry working in theatres across the country as a technician, designer and production manager. He has also run his own production company and worked as a stage manager on tour and in the Jack Singer Concert Hall.

The past president of The Canadian Institute for Theatre Technology and former Chair of the Alberta Section, Van Schaick is currently involved on the Organizing Committee for Rendezvous ’05, the CITT Annual conference scheduled to be held in Calgary in August 2005.

A Calgary native, Van Schaick is a graduate of the University of Regina Theatre program. He moved back to Calgary twelve years ago with his wife of sixteen years, E. Jane Mawby and their two children. He can be reached at 403-243-2688, cell phone 403-371-9684 or email [email protected].

Wilkinson brings with him 14 years experience in the lighting industry, the last 10 years at Feld Entertainment doing World Wide Disney on Ice tours as head electrician. He has extensive training with Vari*lite, CM Loadstar Motors, Tomcat, and Whole Hog, ETC and Artisan consoles, is proficient in automated lighting repair and programming on a variety of consoles, as well as being extremely knowledgeable with all aspects of rigging.
