Christie Introduces New Rental Staging Projectors

Christie Digital Systems, award-winner in rental staging projection, recently announced today the release of its exciting new line of 3-chip DLP rental staging projectors, the Roadster X9 and S9. Designed for unique uses in Rental Staging and portable presentations, the new Roadsters feature advanced inverse telecine (3:2 pull down) digital processing and optional networking functionality.

The brightest and most cost-effective DLP projectors in their class, Christie's Roadster X9 and S9 weigh 99lbs (45 kg) and deliver a staggering 8500 ANSI lumens output in true XGA 1024x768 or SXGA 280x1024 resolution. The new X9 and S9 feature a 1500W Xenon CERMAX® illumination system and are built on a compact, portable chassis. The new Roadsters are also fitted with Christie's proprietary Intelligent Lens System(ILS) for automatic recall of lens position and LiteLOC for constant brightness over the life of the lamp. The compact size of the X9 and S9 also makes it an ideal system for stacking to achieve double brightness or backup. An eye-bolt kit comes standard with each projector for easy fly set-up.

The new Roadsters feature a highly reliable power supply and lamp ballast that provides consistent power to the lamp, reducing the need for external power regulators in even the most extreme brown out conditions. A truly cost-effective solution, the unique self-adjusting power supply minimizes lamp fade over time, ensuring superior lamp performance and reduced operating costs.

Christie's S9 projector utilizes a new three chip 0.9-inch DLP system from Texas Instruments featuring its new Dark Metal Process designed to significantly increase contrast ratio. On the X9 the contrast ratio is 350:1 ANSI and on the S9, an outstanding 400:1 ANSI or 800:1 full field delivering superior video image reproduction.

The Roadster X9 and S9 are supported by a complete range of optional fixed and zoom lenses with bayonet-style insertion for fast lens changes.

Additional Features of the Roadster X9 and S9 Series include:

*Pixel clock 160 MHz

*HDTV and DTV compatible

*5-foot to 40-foot diagonal image size

*Optional 10-bit video processing

Product Availability:

The new X9 and S9 projectors are expected to ship end of October 2002.
