Changes Abound at LED Screen Hire

Hampshire, UK-based LED Screen Hire has had a busy 2005 so far with establishing a new company, making new investments, and hiring new staff.

LED Screen Hire Ireland Ltd. was recently established in Dublin an is headed by Hamlet Sweeney. LED Screen Hire Ireland Ltd. will service the company’s existing clients in the region and capitalize on new and expanding commercial opportunities. Sweeney’s background has been primarily music orientated for the last 15 years, and he’s toured with a string of top international artists including UB40, Meat Loaf, The Hothouse Flowers, The Waterboys, etc. For the last five years he’s specialized in visuals and LED screens, and his “energy and enthusiasm for the business and technical skills make him ideal to lead the Irish operation,” says LED Lighting Hire’s Steven Rhodes.

Meanwhile, LED Screen Hire UK has made a £750,000 investment in new screens so far in 2005, with more planned. This follows on from substantial sums spent in 2004. Both UK and Irish companies now have access to over 200 square meters of LED screens for all types of applications, including 120 m2 of product new to the marketplace this year, 40 m2 of mobile LED truck screen and true indoor/outdoor 10 mm pixel pitch product.

LED Screen Hire UK has added two new employees at its Alton, Hampshire office: Nick Pask and Dion Strydom. Pask brings a wealth of knowledge in business development and project management. His previous experience has included the senior project management of large contracts in the LED and visuals rental industry, and previously he worked with major blue-chip companies. “Nick is a great asset to our core team here in the UK," says Rhodes. "He has many contacts in the industry and his communications skills, creative approach and lateral thinking abilities are ideally suited to our modus operandi.”

Strydom brings 10 years AV industry experience including project managing a host of high profile international LED screen events from carnivals in Brazil to football in Morocco to UK music festivals. “Dion’s professional attitude, optimism and attention to detail has gained him much respect from clients, suppliers and crew and we jumped at the opportunity to get him onboard,” says Rhodes. "He’ll continue to look after long standing clients as well as seek out new business opportunities."
