Champa, Forsyth, Lee, Wagner Nominated for Barrymore Awards

The nominations for the Barrymore Awards, which honor achievement in the Philadelphia area professional theatre world, have been announced. Multiple nominees include Pacific Overtures and Wilma Theatre’s productions of Big Love The Magic Fire and Red.

In the set design category, the nominees are Marina Draghici for Green Violin at Prince Music Theatre; Lewis Folden for The Boxcar Children at Arden Theatre Company; James Kronzer for Pacific Overtures; James F. Pyne, Jr., for A Delicate Balance at People’s Light and Theatre Co.; and Jerry Rojo for Big Love.

Russell Champa snagged two nominations for lighting design, for The Magic Fire and Red. Other nominees include Jerold F. Forsyth for Big Love; Chris Lee for The Last Five Years at Philadelphia Theatre Company; and Daniel Maclean Wagner for Pacific Overtures.

Similarly, Janus Stefanowicz nabbed two nominations in the costume design category, for Big Love and The Magic Fire. The other nominees are Marla Jurglanis for Pacific Overtures, Mark Marlani for Pal Joey at Prince Music Theatre, and Susan Smythe for The Madwoman of Chaillot at Mum Puppettheatre.

Nominees in the sound design category are Jamie Moffett for The Screwtape Letters at Lantern Theatre Company; Bill Moriarty for Big Love; Fabian Obispo for Macbeth at Philadelphia Shakespeare Festival; Nick Rye for The Tempest at Lantern Theatre Company, and James Sugg for Red.
