CALM Expo Sets Dates for May 16-19 in Beijing

CALM Expo, China’s biggest and most established entertainment technology exhibition, will stage its 13th edition May 16-19 in Beijing.

To date, CALM Expo has opened inroads for many international manufacturers and local companies to network and build businesses in the rising Chinese market. With the accession of China into WTO, the positive cultural directions revealed in the recent 16th Chinese Communist Party Congress and the prevailing reforms in China’s performing arts and entertainment scene, not to mention the anticipation surrounding the 2008 Olympics in Beijing and World Expo Shanghai 2010, CALM Expo offers a way into a burgeoning new market.

CALM EXPO receives heavyweight support from its joint organizers, CTEA (China Theatrical Equipment Association), CCPIT (China Council for the Promotion of International Trade), IIR Exhibitions and the China Technology Market Management and Promotion Centre. CTEA is an influential national body for the theatrical equipment industry in the People’s Republic of China with an extensive network of 300 members that include research institutes, provincial, regional and municipal theatrical organizations. Its members congregate consistently at CALM EXPO for their Annual General Meeting and being decision makers in their respective capacities, make them essentially key buyers at CALM EXPO.

New this year are such events as an exclusive, closed-door Buyer and Seller Meet for international companies and local industry players; a conference on Doing Business in China; a DJ demonstration and display; an opening gala dinner and product seminars and workshops.

CALM EXPO 2003 is expected to occupy 35,000 sqm of floor space with over 500 exhibiting companies and an anticipated attendance of some 60,000 visitors.
