Bob Mackie to Receive American Choreography Award

The 7th annual American Choreography Awards ceremony and live dance extravaganza will be held at the historical El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood, CA, on Sunday, October 14.

Bob Mackie will be honored with the Governors Award for setting the standard for costuming dancers in film, TV, music videos, ballets, operas, live concerts, and musical theatre. The show will feature onstage a never-before-seen display of the best costume designs from his illustrious career.

Other highlights of the American Choreography Awards include a wide range of dance entertainment from a special performance by premiere ballerina Susan Jaffe, to hip-hop, to production numbers featuring 80 of LA's top dancers.

All proceeds from the event will benefit the Academy of Dance on Film (DOF) library, the nation's only non-profit arts organization dedicated to the preservation and documentation of dance created for the camera. For more information, visit www.americanchoreographyawards.com.
