Big Apple Seminar Examines Your Taxes

Just in time for income tax season, the next Big Apple Institute seminar, sponsored by Big Apple Lights, is titled What Does Uncle Sam Want: Taxes and the Freelance Designer.The seminar takes place Saturday, January 12, at 10am, in the first floor student lounge of NYU’s Tisch School for the Arts, 721 Broadway.

The speakers are Ginger O’Toole and Barbara Furman of Trudy Durant Associates, an accounting firm that specializes in tax-related issues for those who work in the entertainment industry. Topics of discussion will include strategies for W-2 and 1099 income, deductions, and dos and don’ts regarding a variety of tax issues.
